Hi, we would like to Replace our HP LaserJet 9050DN Series Printer we run about 75,000 pages a month we mostly use 20 lb 8.5 x 11 and 11x17 and Card Stock, 65 lb and Card Stock Paper, 110 lb we do have different printer for Color out of 75,000 pages a month Printing only 5% would be color the rest is B/W not sure if we should get light production printer? Any help would be greatly appreciated

I would recommend a Canon Imagerunner 7000 or 9000 series if you need any color work. They will do pretty good color and excellent black work. The standard Imagepass RIP would be plenty big for most environments.

You may want to also look at the C600 or C700 from Canon. They are lower end print shop machines that offer quality and productivity several notches above the 9000 series. The C600-800s have been doing extremely well in the market and have been proving to be one of the best options available.

As per usual the answer to this question lies with what's available in your area - number one consideration is quality and cost of service NOT IN THE MACHINE ITSELF. All of the major brands today in this marketplace have something available that will suit your requirements HOWEVER in your area they may not have top notch service. Where we are located - Canon and Konica Minolta are not choices at present and Xerox hangs by a thread - however we are lucky that RICOH has a factory store that offers superior service. In past years - this has been different as it will in other areas. Do not believe the sales pitches - find out for yourself.
