KBA has announced that Winston Packaging of Winston-Salem, NC, has just set a new world job production record on its KBA Rapida 106 six-color 41-inch press. About a dozen of these 20,000 sheet / hour presses are in full production in the US.
According to KBA, “The majority of packaging work calls for large run lengths”. Important Rapida features include: fast job changes, simultaneous plate changing, parallel washing and simultaneous makeready. KBA’s DriveTronic SIS (Sensoric Infeed System), for example, is a patented, smooth sheet, venturi infeed that electronically controls lateral sheet alignment into an automatic format, eliminating operator intervention. Most Rapida 106 customers have logistic systems to feed and deliver at their high speeds.
