Big US holiday coming...

Thats pathetic . . . shows the state of our educational system in the United States . . . as the progressives say - move on to common core - making math harder and harder to figure out . . . .

And Gordo, all Royal Mounted Canadians where you dwell are superior to the people of the United States of America? Really? Don't think so there canuck.

This post is a simple declaration of your independence of JEALOUSY for the inferior country you were probably bred in, born in and breathed in.

Really low blow buddy. Only reason I reply here is to entertain you, but also to defend the greatest (by far) country on earth.

Get use to it. It will not be changing in your lifetime or ever.

Go suck a Molson, kiss a moose and drown your sorrows in a plate of maple syruped pancakes.

Pitiful, thought you were a little more dignant than that. Have a jolly!

From two words you build a world.

Only reason I reply here is to entertain you, but also to defend the greatest (by far) country on earth.

You're right about America:
#1 The United States has the highest incarceration rate in the world and thelargest total prison population on the entire globe.
#2 According to NationMaster.com, the United States has the highest percentage of obese people in the world.
#3 The United States has the highest divorce rate on the globe by a wide margin.
#4 The United States is tied with the U.K. for the most hours of television watched per person each week.
#5 The United States has the highest rate of illegal drug use on the entire planet.
#6 There are more car thefts in the United States each year than anywhere else in the world by far.
#7 There are more reported rapes in the United States each year than anywhere else in the world.
#8 There are more reported murders in the United States each year than anywhere else in the world.
#9 There are more total crimes in the United States each year than anywhere else in the world.
#10 The United States also has more police officers than anywhere else in the world.
#11 The United States spends much more on health care as a percentage of GDPthan any other nation on the face of the earth.
#12 The United States has more people on pharmaceutical drugs than any other country on the planet.
#13 The percentage of women taking antidepressants in America is higher than in any other country in the world.
#14 Americans have more student loan debt than anyone else in the world.
#15 More pornography is created in the United States than anywhere else on the entire globe. 89 percent is made in the U.S.A. and only 11 percent is made in the rest of the world.
#16 The United States has the largest trade deficit in the world every single year. Between December 2000 and December 2010, the United States ran a total trade deficit of 6.1 trillion dollars with the rest of the world, and the U.S. has had a negative trade balance every single year since 1976.
#17 The United States spends 7 times more on the military than any other nation on the planet does. In fact, U.S. military spending is greater than the military spending of China, Russia, Japan, India, and the rest of NATO combined.
#18 The United States has far more foreign military bases than any other country does.
#19 The United States has the most complicated tax system in the entire world.
#20 The U.S. has accumulated the biggest national debt that the world has ever seen and it is rapidly getting worse. Right now, U.S. government debt is expanding at a rate of $40,000 per second.

To prove the Greatness and the Independence of the USA, fiatlux 20 point listing shall be taken as a true and valid compilation.

And with that said, the US still leaves every other country well in the arrears.

Now there is GREATNESS exemplified, trouncing the other nations even with all those issues.

Thanks much for your declarations and fortification of my point fiatlux. You stepped exactly where I wanted you to.

Considering that Gordo publishes a humorous comic strip that we all enjoy, I assume his post was for laughter and entertainment. Or, it was revenge for all those Canadian jokes everyone hits him with (myself excluded).

Let's keep in mind that the intent of Youtube and television is entertainment, not education. Although, it can be used for that. I didn't watch the entire video because I saw all that I needed to see - some unprofessional interviewer randomly (or carefully picking less studious citizens) selecting people off the street and sticking a camera and microphone in their face and asking them misleading questions. OF COURSE THEY ARE GOING TO GET IT WRONG! Has no one heard of stage freight? When was the last time you got up on a podium or in front of a camera and spoke eloquently and intelligently WITHOUT A SCRIPT?! Even getting up in front of a small room filled with business associates and acquaintances is challeging without at least some notes scribbled on a sheet of paper. Unless you are experienced and/or well trained, public speaking is difficult.

Now onto statistics, a politicians favorite weapon because they can be mutated, twisted and misquoted to 'prove' any point. I'm going to pick on Fiatlux's item #9, Total Crimes. If you click on his link and then click on the 'per capita' tab http://www.nationmaster.com/country-info/stats/Crime/Total-crimes-per-1000 , you'll see a much more meaningful statistic. Of course our total crime will be higher than a lot of other nations, WE ARE THE THIRD BIGGEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD (behind China and India, respectively) by population. The United States ranks 22 in the world for total crimes per 1,000 people; behind Canada (#10) and the United Kingdom (#4!). And then we need to talk about what defines a 'crime' and how they are reported if at all reported but that is another subject for another day.

One last thing. D Ink Man, I think you need to chill out.

Happy Independance Day everybody (in the United States)!
