web-to-print is a trademark

A certain Belmark Inc owns a trademark for use of "web-to-print" for printing labels since 1999. USPTO TDR Document Viewer and all docos are here United States Patent and Trademark Office hehe :) The thing is, there is absolutely nothing for online ordering whatsoever on their website. Belmark inc

I think they are trademarking the process of printing digitally from a web press rather than the web2print (online ordering) that you are thinking about. I agree it is a little confusing.

Is there a definitive answer on this yet?

That is pretty interesting, I'm not sure they would ever stop all the different web to print companies out there from using the phrase - I know that Conversion Rate Experts for example trademarked "conversion rate optimisation" or CRO and created an industry but don't seem to stop others using it - I guess they are just trying to show they are the pioneers and that they could pull the rug if they chose to.

Would be interested if anyone knows more on this..
