Default Adobe Illustrator CS4 Printing Question

I have a customer that we produce negatives on transparency film for t-shirt screen printing. Recently he has asked me to print his halftones using a dot pattern using the postscript driver, is there a way to output an illustrator file to a Xerox DocuColor 250 and produce his dot pattern. Ihave attached two examples one of his current file and one of roughly he wnats the output to look like, I have manipluated the illustrator file to produce the dot pattern and he is suggesting that when I send his original file to the printer it should create the dot pattern, any help is greatly appreicated. thanks

What he wants is a classic round dot halftone screening. Any RIP for an imagesetter/CTP can do it. As for the DC250, it depends on the RIP on it. I remember old EFI Splash RIP could do it, I don't know of any others.

You need to ask him the ruling he wants - when I used to output film for screen printing the usual ruling was as I recall 65 line . . like the newspapers from an bygone era . .. remember letterpress . . . It's getting harder to get this type of output from the newer digital devices
