Optimize PDFs
I have searched the forums. Everything I find is V9 or V8 of Acrobat Professional.
The issue is this - can I automate (hot folder, etc) the optimization of PDFs via Acrobat 10 or Pitstop 10?
I am just not sure about the feature (that I see) in PS 10.
I am looking to bring the resolution of the CMYK photos to below 300 dpi (jpeg high). Nothing more. Nothing less.
Flattening is not what I am looking to do, nor include / exclude fonts. Simple resize of the photos.
I have a fantastic person in my employ that writes INDD scripts. I am not sure if Acrobat is scriptable?
3rd Part would be just fine as well. I do own PowerSwitch.

So there are a number of options that you can pick from.
1) Acrobat Pro - use the PDF Optimizer (Actions) to create a preflight profile that only contains only a resample color images fixup.
2) Acrobat Pro - create a preflight profile that contains only a resample color images, then make a droplet of that preflight profile.
3) Use an action list or preflight profile in PitStop Pro to resample only color images.
4) Apago PDF Enhancer to resample color images
5) Use a copy Enfocus PitStop Server, callas pdfToolbox Server or Apago PDF Enhancer Server in your Switch workflow.
I'm not sure how scriptable Acrobat Pro X is but as you can see there are plenty of options. Many which you already own software that could be used to implement. If you really want to automate it then look at PitStop Server, pdfToolbox Server or PDF Enhancer Server.

Thanks a MILLION Matt! BTW, can I get the $349 Enhancer, or do I have to get the $2K server edition? I have PowerSwitch already. (V 8.5)
Wait, let me be clear. I mean, can I run the $349 out of switch?
I can sell $350. Not sure I can sell yet another automated for Switch. These things add UP!

You'd be best served by asking Apago that. I can't answer that authoritatively.
