AX4 - PDFRender Error

Anybody have any experience with the following renderer error when processing PDF files:
'1, Unknown Bravo Error'

After Effects error: 1,Unknown Bravo Error
Message interpretation:

Unknown.

Possible causes:

Bravo seems to refer to an internal sub-architecture for media format handling, possibly syncing items in time.

Resolution or workaround:

Based on information provided by a user, this error can be triggered by using native text layers in files from Adobe Illustrator. Converting these text layers to outlines resolves the issue and prevents the error from coming up. It is however still unclear, whether this may be related to using bad fonts and the conversion only "fixes" the contours.
