Default Vertical Black Lines issue with Accuset

Running film on an old accuset 100 with a star 400 rip

Considering a rip upgrade but a problem with the imagesetter makes me pause.

I have recently started getting vertical black lines on the film across the entire sheet.

They are very fine and faint but they are coming up on the plate and causing mayhem.

Any ideas why this might be?

I recently upped the exposure setting to 200 from 150 as my tints were burning out and the exposure test and densitometer showed that 200 was the best setting.

To be clear - the lines are on all film that is "imaged" even the clear spaces at either end where a laser has no place being. However if you just feed and cut - no lines.

Any help you could give before calling an engineer would be great.

Also - anyone know a good Agfa engineer for Scotland?

your problem is with the spin motor,
dirty encoder most likely causing lines,
    dirty optics are affecting exposure
spin motor requires agfa service engineer.

i am too far from scotland
