Default Adjusting Workflow Black Point in Profile Editor

    Hi,

I have to change the Black Point for soft proofing ie make the soft proof darker than the specs provided in the press profile. I understand that we can change this by using Profile Maker defining the workflow ie Source---> Simulation--> Destination in Profile Editor.

The reason I need to understand this procedure is given below:
    - I am using custom coloured paper, uncoated
    - I have created custom icc profile for the same after doing test runs
    - But what I see on the hardware controlled monitor (soft proof settings in PS) is not black enough when compared to printed sample, rest everything is very good

So I thought we will be able to cheat a little by changing the workflow black point using Profile Maker. Is it possible to do such a thing in Profile Editor?

    Thanks

Are you sure the issue is with your custom icc profile, and not the settings used for your monitor calibration?
I have seen the same issue and have addressed it with different monitor settings. I don't recall having seen this issue when we were using CRT monitors.

I am sure that the problem is not with the custom icc profile. Actually what's happening is that the black point of the icc profile when displayed on the monitor is very dull (or not dark enough) like in newspapers. I want to cheat a little bit by making my black point slightly darker than the icc profile by adjusting the workflow in profile editor.

I just want to tweak the workflow profile in profile editor so that the blacks become more blacker rest everything is fine.

In my proof preview I am simulating paper white and black point to get as accurate representation as possible.

    Thanks
