Everybody's Sunburned!

We are having issues with our Xerox 700 and PDF's. It seems that there is just too much magenta.... everybody appears to have a sunburn. When we print a file straight from illustrator to the freeflow system the color seems fine. But when we import a file at the freeflow workstation and then print it, the color is off.

Is anyone familiar with the freeflow workflow? Does freeflow convert a file to a PDF before printing? Could it be that in this conversion the color is getting manipulated?

Not sure about that particular workflow, but if the images are RGB and your RIP thinks it is Adobe RGB, they will be on the red side. Telling your RIP to assume that an untagged image is sRGB should help.

Even if your RIP is not performing the conversion, you can apply the same logic to other parts of your workflow (wherever the conversion may be happening.)

I agree with DCurry.....sounds like a classic case of AdobeRGB getting assigned to images that should actually be sRGB.
