Below is a link to a free open source software project, for anybody interested in validating their measured proofing values against target values such as F39.

ValiProof | Comparison and validation tool for proofing processes

I have just started to kick this around using our RIP software, 9900 proofer, ColorPort and an Eye One + iO table. I have hit some road blocks in the process, and hope to report when I have success (time permitting).

I am having problems with the CGATS measurement file generated by ColorPort, in that there are mismatches between it's formatting and the F39L reference file.

    Errors include:

    F39L Reference Data = SAMPLE_ID
    CGATS Measurements = SampleID

So I then edit the CGATS text file to use SAMPLE_ID.

Then there are a different amount of columns between the reference and measurements.

I have tried different ColorPort exports of the data, with no luck...so now I will have to try to chop up the text in text editors and spreadsheets to get them to match the same amount of columns with the same data in each column.

    Sigh.
