Prinergy Evo 3.1.6.2 Color Calibration
hello,
I'm new to this forum and relatively new to this software.
Before I call tech support..is there anything I can do to get better color output from these CTP plates.
It seem like the black curve is way off base..and images are generally very dark.
When the Trensetter was installed..and the initial job are on mark..but since that time. customer has been very unhappy with the color output.
Thank you for any replies..

Is your proof being output to an industry standard?
Do the images look correct on the proof?
Are you judging your presswork according to that proof?
Are you printing to an industry standard (ink hue, density, dot gains?)
How was the Trendsetter initially set up?
What has changed since then?
Was the change sudden or did it drift gradually over time.
Are you only having problems with one job or with one customer? Or is it every job?
etc. etc.
best, gordo

Don't bother color calibrating printing plates....it doesn't work.
Seriously though, is the plate calibration/linearization OK? Do you have any way of measuring it? If not, all bets are off until you get yourself a plate reader and can verify the linearization.
BTW, it's not going to be within the realm of tech support to troubleshoot your press's color issues....but they should be able to help you verify if your plate calibration has changed as long as you have a proper plate measurement instrument.

Dear Edward,
Just to start, do you have Harmony Software installed in your Prinergy Server?

Thanks for all the reply.
Yes. I do have Harmony installed.
Haven't played around with it..fearing I might do something to mess up the curve.
More than it has been messed up.
Where can I buy a plate density reader?
Thanks
Edward

I like
Densitometers and Spectrophotomters for Print and Packaging | Techkon USA
I am guessing you are in USA or techkon.com for elsewhere.
The software that goes with it is really good. A customer of mine uses it to prove that 'prepress got it right again and that the problem must be in the pressroom !"
