papertype 1 proofing simulation
is there a way to consider the actual substrates whiteness when proofing using gmg or efi for papertype 1 printing condition? thanks

If I understand your question correction, you would like to alter the current paper simulation to match an actual press substrate, is that right? The trick is not only to alter the white point, but have the change in substrate color tapered throughout the profile.
If your are using GMG, you can alter the white point CMYK values of an .mx4/5/r manually...use the Color Value correction tool and add or subtract CMYK % to the "White", this will calculate the white point correction throughout the profile. If you'd like the software to calculate the white point, create a duplicate profile, enter the new target white point LAB values for the CMYK 0000 index, and run a few iterations. Once the desired delta E is achieved, take the CMYK values for the white point, and enter them into your original profile, using the Color Value Correction tool as perviously described.
Idealliance also has a Substrate Relativity Calculator available in their downloads that will recalculate industry standard or custom characterization data sets based on the CIELAB values of a given substrate.
