Lines on the plate

I ran a fsck to all file systems. This was for maintenance purpose. But i've noticed that the problem disappeared after that. Could that be the cause ?

i was browsing this site for similar problems, and found this thread. I was experiencing a similar problems, only my lines are more uniformed and they cover all the exposable area.
