Default In Need of Cyrel Plate Vendor for Coatings

I am looking for a vendor to create cyrel plates for spot coating use on Heidelberg presses ANILOX coating units. We have had mixed results with marrying(gluing) a cyrel to a coating blanket. We are not interested in buying the equipment to do this ourselves and want to outsource the plate making. We already have an increasing volume in this area and are expecting the increase to continue.

If you are a vendor or have a vendor you utilize or recommend please share. If you have been burned and want to warn about a vendor to avoid please share that as well. Private messages are welcome too. We have reached out to a couple of flexographic plate vendors who seem to be hesitant about helping us with coating plates. We are open to different methods/materials but we need to find a vendor who is consistent and reliable quickly.

I would contact the folks at Classic Color in Chicago, they are experts at running this type of work so they probably have some good suppliers of Photopolymer plates. I would think they would help as long as they are not competitors of yours.

    Chevalier:

Perhaps I missed your location -

If you are located in the US, then please realize that Pitman - an Agfa Company - has been a distributor for duPont Cyrel(TM) products for over 35 years. That relationship has recently been renewed...

Perhaps your local Pitman rep. can point to to a local provider of finished flexo plates.

    Cornishpastythighs ,
Thanks for the fast responses. Classic Color is a competitor in some aspects but we have common vendors for the coatings themselves and I have already reached out to them.

    Steve,
I'm located in the on the Southern line of the Midwest and the Northern line of the South. We would like to have a vendor as close as possible. This is due to the nature of the market we pursue having extremely tight deadlines and turn-times.

You send us a pdf of the area to be coated and we send you a stripped Folacoat blanket. These Folacoats can be used instead of stripping blankets for general coating. They transfer approx 90% of the coating (traditional stripping blankets transfer approx 60-65%). Folacoats cost about double the price of a stripping blankets (kinyo) but last approx 3 times as long. If you are coating a job with Gloss coating you get a much glossier result due to the better flow out of the coating.

    Thanks
    steve
