APS 6/82 ACS - Mac G3 -- to PC

Have a APS 6/82 ACS hooked to Mac G3 - Viper 3.0 Rip -- we work on PC's w/XP - Indesign. What is most reasonable (but good...) way to connect everything, have a wireless network from another building, usually works, but rather not use it if possible. Anyway to connect w/cable? -- Is it possible to read discs from PC in the Mac? We know absolutely nothing about Macs, realize we've got to learn something tho. Thanks for input. Lamar
