Fuji introduced LH-PLE as a plate for very long runs and high resistivity to UV inks. I have seen results from field tests for more than 150k run length with UV inks. The plate is accredited to 10um FM and requires really low energy 110uJ/m2. I think it is a direct competitor to Kodak Trillian.

With those new Fuji plates do those need to be postbaked for them to hold up against the UV inks?

No. You do not need to bake the Fuji plates.

From observation, most presses with long runs don't really have plate wear problems because of chemical resistance...it is almost always because of physical sources of wear.

If your problem is clearly not press chemicals, and you need your plates to exceed 500k impressions regularly, the extra expense of post-bake systems will probably be not only necessary, but the only long term solution to your printing needs.
