    Question Plate Spoilage Numbers

Just crunching some Year end numbers for Pre Press Dept. Was curious if anyone had an idea of what the Average spoilage percentage is, for plating?? I tried doing some searching on the internet and this Website but didn't really come up with anything. Im just trying to get some perspective of where my dept. ranks in spoilage area. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks,

Depends really. I would say somewhere between 2 and 4 percent of total plates mainly for quality checks and calibs. between chemistry changes with ECRM platesetters, provided plate re-run requests from pressmen are kept to a minimum and plate processing is of course consistent. Plates punched after exposure won't count.

    Thumbs up

Perfect! Thanks for the reply. At least this gives me some sort of a comparison.

Average spoilage in a ctp workflow: 3% before press - 1% on press

    best, gordo
