Default Screen vs. Trendsetter - Which is better?

We are going to CTP. We use between 2000 to 3000 - 29" plates per year, 1 & 2 color, no process. Which is the better unit?

We've had both a Trendsetter and now a Screen & the Screen unit by far has had less problems and less maintenance costs.

Can't comment on Trendsetter, but we have had Screen for many years and found the platesetter to be extremely reliable.

for so few plates I would look for a used 16 diode screen 4300, lots around as people upgraded to 32's, cheap and will last forever doing 3000 a year (we do 1500 a month on one, and other then cleaning optics never have service on it)

Screen is my choice. It is user friendly and few consumable parts. The most important part is you will have control on parts and the service if you purchase Screen. Kodak is using Service Dongle for access to Service Shell on all new Trendsetters. What that means is the 3rd party can not have access to service level. You will be hooked to Kodak's Service for rest of your machine's life. You will be forced to buy their consumables and who knows what. Screen Machines are used by different leading print machinery suppliers like Fuji, Agfa and Heidelberg under different names.

    Hope this will help!

Never used Trendsetter but I can say that we've been with screen for years and I have been more than satisfied.
