Need help, Docucolor printers

Hi Guys!
My name is Matt im From Latvia.

6 Years from now im in printing,
Mostly printing christmas cards,
Last year i was starting to printe envelopes.

Im looking now for a Laser printer,
and i come up to Docucolor 12 and 250

Can some one please describe the difference?
Firstly Is the quality diffrence visable?
What are the maintenece? and how much they cost?

And are thees printers good for high volume prints?
Lets say 30% toner yield avarage per page?

whata needs to be changed? Drums, toners, fusers? some kind of oils?
Looking forward from your answers.
p.s. Every where is writen 2400x2400dpi, and 600x600dp, but can it be recognized by eye?

many differences between the DocuColor 12 and DocuColor 250. Both are obsolete models. The DC12 was launched in 1999 I think, and the DC250 around 2005.

Probably the biggest difference in IQ, is that the DC12 uses fuser oil, the DC250 does not.

There are more differences in paper handling, media weight, speed, accesories, RIPs, consumables, etc.

Usually, the maintenance will be more expensive on the older unit wherever you are.

Yes but still the older is much cheaper in starting price.

I wanted to ask, what are the maintenace?

Toner? rolls? Oils? parts that ware out? and how much they cost? aprox $ per page?
Im planing a trip to Netherlands to see printers, and test them bouth, what are the things i should look at to buy a good docucolor printer?

a cheaper starting price doesn't mean is the best option. that's only one part of the equation.

You could pay $1,000 vs $10,000, but what if each print is going to cost you $1.00 vs $0.10 and you plan on doing 10,000 prints a month?

Thanks thats right, if in prints is that big diffrence i admit you but i not famillure with this, the most, important for me to find out now is that what parts and how offten aprox. need to be changed?
