Unhappy Xerox 700 down for a week….no solution in sight…. Suggestions anyone?

Xerox spots streaking down one side with spots scattered throughout ….. Although a tech worked on it – doesn’t solve the problem and actually makes the problem worse!! The toner now doesnt adhere to the paper. There has been a slow response as well.

Called a Xerox manager and the 800 service number but no solution provided.

Does anyone have suggestions on getting a solution?

Sounds like you may have got some of the old new style drums. We had similar problems when we got a batch of the first new style drums (Not made in Japan). They had to take the end caps off of the old style drums and put them on the new style. We haven't had any drum problems in several months.

We now are having a streak about 1/16" wide going the 13" direction with a gap between each one of 1/8". Xerox checked their data base yesterday and they have to replace the main drive motor and the drive motor for the CMY drums.

We've got 170,000 12x18/13x19 clicks this month so far.

There are spots streaking down one side with spots scattered throughout. The toner doesn't adhere to the paper after the tech worked on it. Hope that helps clarify.

With our new Xerox manager and new field tech support is practically nothing. Our new Xerox tech prefers to arrive days later, not return calls, cancel calls, announce the problem is resolved or paper when its not etc. We have documented this.

If you have had this problem what was the solution?

    Media Weight - ->200gsm?
    Mottle patch installed?
    Check IOT SW version
update IOT SW - call to Service
    IOT 54.37 - > IOT 54.42
Fuser Gloss Mottle Mode ON 740-043(from 0 to 1)

if this is already done - it is necessary to UP transfer - on base of the custom paper

The media weight is -- >200gsm

Sorry, I am not familiar with troubleshooting the 700 to answer the rest of your questions except that Xerox tech support has worked on this several times.

    Entering the System Administrator Mode
    1. Press the Log In/Out button on the control panel.
    2. Use the numeric keypad to enter the System Administrator ID, then touch Enter.
    The default ID is 11111.
    3. Select Machine Status button. Select the Print Report button. Select Copy Report, Configuration Report. Select Start.
    4. Select Close, Close, and the Services button to exit.

    Find in Report ...

    IOT 54.??.0

if IOT 54.32(37).0 call Service - install Mottle Patch (similar problem) - can be this will it is enough. Otherwise see next

    if already IOT 54.42.0
    - create Custom Paper ... see User Guide ...
select in setting Custom Paper - Manual Transfer - set Transfer more than 100% - test it - some Design papers 300 gsm (Ivoline, SirioPerl, Touch Cover) I happen to print with 150% for good result

Try print paper as extra heavy - set in print setting, weight 300

    Good luck
