Default printing high resolution pictures from different plotters

I ve multiple plotters namely the HP Designjet 500 , 800, 5500 PS, T1100 and T1200. Whenever i take a print of the same image at the same dpi from these plotters. The results are different. Some prints are clearer while other are brighter wid a difference of colour tone? Is it because of the different print technologies used or because of the ink difference??

Many things attribute to this. Differences with ink, different paper weights, paper coatings etc. Let's not even get into humidity and temperature! It's hard enough to get four identical machines producing colour and quality to same standard, let alone different ones all be it the same manufacturer.

Have they all been calibrated to the same colour space?? (I always ask obvious questions, my apologies, but its the only way I learn.)
