    Default Toner digital consitency

We are looking to upgrade our Digital press department to a larger toner based machine like the KM8000 or the Xerox 770 or 800.
What we want to know is: Is there a way, outside of manufacturers offerings, to monitor, challenge and correct the consistency from beginning to end of run?
Conventional printing had GATF and I've read about G7 and SWOP but they deal with ink, inkjet, proofers etc.
I am just concerned about running a 5000 sheet job and being able to make sheet 1, 2000, 3500 and 5000 look the same. All the salespeople will tell me what I want to hear. I need outside advice.

There really isn't any standard control method for digital machines. Digital is a bit of a different beast vs off set. Assuming your machine is in good working order. You should never see variation from start to finish of a run. The problem you run into sometimes, is say Job X is run today, in 3 weeks from now, after various calibrations and stuff, you may see a difference. It might take some work to get that back to exactly what you need, but the run is still going to be the same from start to finish
