    Default forum newb with question

I will admit to not searching arount the boards before I ask this question.
I do not know where to start.
My boss just purchased a large DM printer.
I have a bit of experience with the program we are using, so I am tasked with putting the first boots on the ground.
We are going to print banner blanks for sign makers... stripes, polka-dots, camo patterns, etc.
Where does one find backgrounds for such applications?
patterns such as zebra are not easy to tile, because of the non-standard nature of the stripes, so I will need banner-sized clips OR clips patterns that are designed to be tiled.
You are the go-to info guys.
    Help?
    thanks,
    Chris

    Chris,

.... Have you even tried Google?

I did a search for "tile background images" and Google came back with a list of a half dozen sites that specialize in these types of images. You'll need to pay attention to licensing though - especially since you'll be reproducing these images in print and then selling it for reuse by other printers.

I would also check with your printer manufacturer. Many carry libraries of background images licensed specifically for the type of work you're doing.

Finally, if you have a college or university nearby with an active graphic arts department you might check there for custom stuff. College kids love to see their artwork in print.

    I googled and found heroturko.com and gfxtra.com...
both good for some high res images of the crazier stuff.
I figured there would be a few "favorite hangouts" for digital print guys. Kinda like particular "breaks" that surfers use.
