Can anyone share there opinion on these printers

I have a Xerox 700 and a Ricoh C900

I am considering switching to two of of the same printers the Ricoh C720s or Ricoh C751EX or Xerox 770

I would get two 751EX boxes. Output is awesome!

I would stay away from Ricoh. We got a Pro651EX back in March and had an issue trying to print a newsletter where there was a screen behind black type. Every job where you have this effect it puts a white outline around the letters. We put the same job on a Konica and Xerox with no problems After 5 months of techs and specialist, Ricoh says well it prints within specs. If that's true then why did they spend 5 months trying to fix it and when they couldn't hide behind that statement. Ricoh said they would pick up their 651 while we were waiting for that to happen we test drove a Xerox 770 it prints fine and it was less expensive. The day we signed the contract with Xerox, Ricoh came back and said that they wold not pick up the 651 .We now have to hire an Attorney to defend ourselves. If you have any questions I would glad to answer them for you. After being a Ricoh customer for over 12 years I can't believe they won't stand behind what they sell, and now I have to spend time and money

it seems like every brand and every model has a story like this. I recall all the panic over people saying the Ricoh C900 toner wont adhere to paper.. and it flakes off..I have the C900 and dont have this issue. I have had nothing but good experiences with Both Xerox and Ricoh. both have been very responsive when I have had service issues. I have seen this posted in other places.. Anyone else have any other experiences.

You might want to try this, I have seen this same problem and turned out to be Fiery RIP settings. For some reason depending how the PDF was made, or saved to run offset possibly at 175 line or 150 line screen. The default setting on the Fiery tends to be the highest resolution (200 dot etc.) drop it down to 175 dot or even 150 dot (1200 dpi) turn on composite over print and be sure to have the adobe core as the default Fiery selection. Another thing I noticed when dealing with some PDF files again depending how they were created if you run them through Pitstop and save them optimize for digital print it makes them even worse, you not only amplify the halo effect of the type, but also the output looks grainy, especially in the 50% gray balance, you see modeling. The other thing is you could send this file as native Adobe Post Script file and see if you get better results.
