    Default cmyk blacks

We often receive pdfs that have a variety of cmyk blacks. Many times these blacks are "too heavy". Is there a tool available which will standardize the black areas of a file so they are all the same, and conform to a standard? I'm thinking of something like a standard separation profile that limits the total ink density.

    Thanks,

    Mike

There are a couple of ways of handling rich blacks. You can use a global change to select, then find similar and correct. You can use an action list that looks for specific builds in vector objects and changes them to a specific build or you can use a device link profile.

As far as making a CMYK PDF spot colors you can "kind" of do it. It's not necessarily the prettiest but it can be done.
