Pitstop - Using Gamma 2.2 Gray profile instead of "Generic Gray"

I want to use a different profile in Enfocus Pitstop when converting photos and pages to grayscale. I find the default "Generic Enfocus Gray" to do poorly, particularly with the tonal range in images. If I use Acrobat and "edit image" in photoshop, convert it to grayscale and save back to the PDF file I get good tonal range.

The problem is that I cannot find anywhere online to download a Gamma 2.2 profile and If I did get the profile (which I believe is on my computer somewhere as it shows up in other software) where do I install it so Pitstop can access it and give it as an option rather than the "generic enfocus gray".

It depends on which platform you are using. You don't necessarily need the Gama 2.2 profile. You can make your own custom gray profile or you can extract the black channel out of an ICC profile and then save that. But where you put those profiles depends on which platform. I believe the Mac is /Macintosh\ HD/Library/Application Support/ColorSync or something like that. On Windows it's C:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color\
