    Default Epson 9880

Does anyone know if the Epson 9880 uses the same print driver as the Epson 9600 or Epson 9800? We currently run Nexus workflow and have a Epson 9600 connected to it, since there is no release yet for the Epson 9900 was wondering if we can just download a driver for the 9880. Are looking to buy a 9880 and want to make sure there are no issues that I'm not seeing.

    Thanks,
    Ken

We use a 9880 with no probs or issues. Connected via network and mainly send files from a G5 Mac with no rip. We print on 80gsm bond, 130gsm premium dry paper, 190gsm photo paper and Canvas. Great printer for canvas printing.

As mentioned by Gramshi I would use the 9800 print driver. We had a 9880 installed about 6 months ago and the technician used the 9800 print driver because he new of several problems not fixed with 9880 print driver at that time

WTF. Who is this technician? Is he from Esko?
I was used 9800 driver for 9880 due to incompatible application. (ProofMaster 2.1 cannot support 9880 but 9800). Actually it's inadvisable method and cannot use your printer with another driver if application supports it.

Take it easy Grashmi. I was just trying to help. The question was is the 9600 or 9800 print driver compatible with the 9880. Seeing how you did it, and our Color Management Specialist from Fuji films did it, I was under the impression that it is compatible. I believe it could of been a software issue but compatibly was the question not "inadvisable method".
After reading the original question a little closer I believe the real question is can they run a 9600 using a 9880 driver on the Nexus system as beta before they purchase a 9880.
Just trying to help not give bad information
