Odystar and Bleed

Folks,

Has anyone had any experience working with bleed and Odystar/Pitstop? I need to do two things -

1. Check that a PDF has the appropriate amount of bleed.
2. If the PDF doesn't have the appropriate amount, add that bleed.

I was told that resizing the bleed box with the Prepress gateway and then extending the bleed with a Pitstop action was the way forward, but it didn't really work for me.

Any help or direction much appreciated!
