Help with resizing

Greetings!

My employer recently purchased the pitstop server/Switch combination. I love it so far, but am having trouble resizing jobs properly. What I need it to do is the following (pitstop action):

1. Remove crop marks (which I can use the action already in pitstop for.)
2. Cut off any bleed (if there is any) at the trim edge.
3. Resize the content so it will fit in a 8.5 x 11 page with .5 inch white border. This has to be variable because content is anywhere from 11x17 to 6x9. I would prefer if it didn't enlarge, just shrink proportional.

I have tried this several ways, but centering content doesn't work as many of the files have invisible words or bleed that extends too far to make centering work. I have used several of the tools, and I get close but not quite there. I am probably missing something obvious. Any ideas?

Thanks much!

Images resolution is changing when I check it in Pitstop

Good day everybody,

I have recently noticed something weird about images resolution when checked in Pitstop,

I am working on a magazine on Indesign CS5 and all the images I am using are 300 ppi but when I open the finalized magazine in PDF and check the images resolution with "Pitstop Inspector", I see almost all the images with different (higher) ppi... for example one of the images was 300 and is now 700ish while another is 1200ish while another is still 300,

any help/hint is much appreciated,

Thank you in advance :)

Duotone Conversion

Hi all. I have a PDF that has a duotone (2 spot colors) photo. I am wondering if there is an action in Pitstop that I can convert the 2 spot colors to a CMYK of my choice. Meaning I do not want a CMYK equivalent, but I want to be able to pick the percentages of the CMYK conversion.

Thanks in advance for any advice.
