Prosetter 74 CtP - Imaging non-image areas...help!

I've been using a Heidelberg Prosetter 74 30mW laser with Violet photopolymer plates for over 2years. Suddenly over night, the CtP has started imaging non-image areas when we attempt to burn plates. I've verified that the processor is working correctly and have cleaned the optical head and rotating mirror on the CtP. It seems to me that the CtP doesn't recognise the non-image areas of the artwork and the whole page appears green after processing the plate whereas areas outside the artboard remain white!

Any ideas how I can resolve this issue?

CP85 cleaning unit makes weird noise.

Hi all!

For the last two years we've been using the CP85 cleaning unit.
It proseced approximately 10000 azura TS plates (or 5000 sq mtrs),most of them (till february)745x605 and lately mainly1030x785.

The last month it started made some noises coming mainly from the scrub rollers gears, something like an old watch unwinding (-krrr-krrr-) can't really describe it i must record it i suppose :-P

Today the noise became much louder.

The only thing i've noticed is the gears are kinda loose, but i wouldn't know how loose they were in the first place, and they sure aren't much more loose than the transfer rollers gears.

Plates are coming up fine, and the maintenance is performed in very tight basis-major cleaning every month- no chemicals used.

Any one facing something similar?

Thanks in advance!

Topsetter and PIF card Metadimension Problem

Hi every...I need some help.

I have a Screen CTP PTR-800 with Harlequin RIP.

I buy the PIF Card from Screen to connect the CTP directly to RIP Metadimension.

But I have the follow error:* "Two or More Printing Machines have the same Name"
*
I believe that the CTP have a repeat printing plate or Comments with the same name, but not I donn have any of of these, also only have 3 plates, so there not much to check in the CTP.

If any can help me appreciate.

Advice on Moving PlateRite 8000II imagesetter to new Building without calling in a Se

Just throwing this out there. Has anyone else moved their imagesetter to a different location without the use of a Service Tech coming in? We are moving to a new facility a couple of blocks from our old building. We have in the past had to move the machine due to a flood, and we did not have time to worry about locking down anything such as the drum....etc. We did not have any problems when we moved it back into place after flood cleanup and made sure that it was level. Thought we should do it the right way this time, but everything we have been told by our Service Techs is that we need to have them come in to deinstall and reinstall.. We don't want to pay for the service call if it is something we can do ourselves. We do own our imagesetter.

Thanks
Diane
