    Default New Heidelberg fount?

    Hello everyone,

We had a Heidelberg rep in recently and he quizzed me on our fount solution. Currently we use BMM 2 in 1 fount which is a 1 step fount (ran at 10-11% with good results). He told me that Heidelberg have developed their own 1 step fount which he claims can be ran at 3%.

I'm just wondering if anybody has used it and has any feedback?

    Thanks

I would speculate that Heidelberg is private labeling the product as they do with some of their inks, plates, and other Saphira Brand items. I believe that it might either be a Druck Chemie or a Vegra Product with a different label.

They're in the equipment business, not chemicals.

    Cool

Thanks for the reply. Heidelberg are coming in on the 5th of July to run a m/c test. I've told the guy that if we have any problems he's outta here! He did say he would like to trial Heidelberg's Saphira XL range of inks.

We currently use their Fastset range which is very good. No problems with drying etc.

The conundrum is, as a buyer for the company, you've got to get the best product for the best price!

We've tried quite a few different ink ranges but we have always had no problems with Saphira Fastset. When we originally purchased the press about 3 years ago it came with the Saphira startup pack. A lot of the press guys were sceptical about Heidelberg sundries but, fair play to them, the ink range is v. good.

I will try (almost!) anything once and I have probably asked the press guys to trial about 10 ink ranges in the last 3 years.
