Default PS/M 5.0 save settings for reinstall

PS/M 5.0 may be corrupted. Want to delete it and reinstall. Have the cd. But I don't want to lose all the settings. How do I save all of them so the film comes out the same after the reinstall?

I don't remember such a feature in PS/M 5.x or 6.x. Maybe there was in later versions but I do not think so.

Is it as simple as renaming the preferences folder, then changing the name back after the reinstall? Or is there settings that need to stay the same in places other than preferences?

You can have PS/M 5 software corrupt or only de PS/M preferences in System/System Preferences.
I suggest that you create a new group of extensions with a basic system + conection extension(sfl, tsp.I don't remember exactly if there is any more extension) before reinstall the PS/M and it's recommended scan/repair and defrag your hard disk.
Try work without virtual memory and adjust the memory of the individual components of the RIP. If you work with virtual memory and the hard disk is damaged you get more hangs/faults than you work without virtual memory.
If you need reinstall the PS/M you should save the older PS/M 5 RIP folder and Preferences in a separated folder created by you for copy excurves, tonereps and formats later in the new installation.
