Job Description
The Purchasing/Production Control Manager will be managing purchasing, inventory management and production control functions.

•Managing a team of 5 –7 people responsible for sourcing, production scheduling, inventory management, and estimating. This includes partnering with sales, customer service, manufacturing, and distribution to ensure that department initiatives are in-line with meeting goals that deliver company growth and profit objectives.


•Sourcing new vendors for raw materials and contract manufacturing with turn-key capabilities, and keeping apprised of the market for new materials and supplies to generate cost reductions and improve delivery/quality.


•Negotiating price and buying terms with vendors, and developing sourcing strategies to meet customer demands.


•Establishing departmental SOPs and measuring vendor performance, and maintaining timely communications with vendors to resolve quality and delivery issues


•Working closely with contract manufacturers, providing master schedule of production jobs, planning, coordinating procurement and movement of materials needed


•Forecasting and planning for finished goods and raw materials to support service objectives at lowest cost


•Overseeing inventory management and understanding operational capacities and bottlenecks. Develop and ensure proper inventory control procedures are functioning efficiently and effectively to optimize company assets.




These are the skills we are looking for in an ideal candidate:



•4-7 years experience in sourcing, purchasing, paper or print production required.


•2-3 years experience managerial experience.


Excellent understanding of supply chain fundamentals in a manufacturing environment



Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, MRP,ERP



Excellent verbal and written communication skills



Organized and able to multi-task, with good time management skills required
