Default Travel to Print '09 - need itinerary help

In the past I've flown to the various GraphExpos - courtesy of my employer.
This year I'll be traveling to Chicago for Print'09 by campervan under my own steam. Google shows this as the route I should take:

What I'm looking for are suggestions as to better routes, or, if this is indeed the best route, anything or places that are interesting on this route that you think I should be checking out on my drive there.

    thanks for your help
    best gordo

BTW, If you go to google maps and input Victoria BC to Chicago as the beginning and end of the route you can recreate this itinerary, and, by dragging points along the route alter it to create a new or "better" itinerary.

I suggest you alter your course to go through rapid city sd. cross sd turn south to omaha nebraska. turn east take I 80 to chicago. 2 reasons its a flatter for the rv. and it runs though illinois 10 miles from me. I drove the rapid city route to kewanee, il 2 years ago. its pretty good drive. if you go this way don't forget to stop at wall drug in sd. corn palace in mitchell. mount rushmore. of course mount rushmore may not mean much to a canadian.

If you have the time, I'd suggest visiting Yellowstone. Though I'd check ahead for road closures due to snow. We went through in July and some of the roads were closed due to snow. If you drive down through Yellowstone and then I-90 through Rapid City as rbaillu suggests, you'll add only 3 hours of drive time to your total. It'd be a great stopping place. 15 hours from Victoria to Yellowstone then another 21 to chicago.

By the time I walk out of here, I'm going to be a lean, mean, prepress machine...
