Default Steve Jobs has a hot Flash

If you haven't seen it, there's been a significant development that affects only some of us now, but may have an impact of all of us in the future.

The relationship between Apple and Adobe has been deteriorating and many people thought that this would be hashed out somehow, but apparently it is not to be.
    See:
    Thoughts on Flash

Where Jobs trashed Flash again for "major technical drawbacks", including excessive battery drain and lack of security. To quote one part:

"Flash is a cross platform development tool. It is not Adobe’s goal to help developers write the best iPhone, iPod and iPad apps. It is their goal to help developers write cross platform apps. And Adobe
has been painfully slow to adopt enhancements to Apple’s platforms. For example, although Mac OS X has been shipping for almost 10 years now, Adobe just adopted it fully (Cocoa) two weeks ago when they
shipped CS5. Adobe was the last major third party developer to fully adopt Mac OS X."

Now, there is a history that is of Biblical proportions here:

Yeah the new iPad does not support Flash. I guess Apple thinks their Quick Time is superior but the problem is one of inertia.

This isn't about quicktime, they want to support open standards like html5 and provide a better user experience.

Flash on mac has sucked since day one, install a flashblocker on your browser and you will see the dramatic speed increase. It's bloated and slow.

Yeah, it sucks to not have access to some media on the iphone/ipad right now, but it's going to be a small sacrifice for the long term benefits I think.

Apple has managed to change the music, movie and now publishing industry. No reason why they can't take on flash

Steve is a master of marketing, and this is just another sales tack. It also justifies his controlling nature. Apple and Adobe have been in bed together since day 1 of the Macintosh. This is just another bump. Lets not hype it anymore then it is.
