epson 9800 CS5 communication error

I have a epson pro 9800 K3 ink. I use a Mac intel based desktop. (G5) I use Photoshop Cs5 and Lightroom 2. I use the print module in Lightroom to print all my work. I just upgraded to CS 5 last week. Three days ago at the end of a 2 day print run I got a communication error from printer. Long to short took the g5 in for service. Had 3 more print to finish... using my Mac Book Pro to run the 9800. firs 2 came out fine. I needed to make changes to last one. I installed CS 5 to the laptop. OOOOOps same problem communication error ...... no printing.
After hours of checking every thing I uninstalled CS 5. Now I can print fine.

Has anyone heard of this any suggestions welcome.
