Need some Photoshop help

Hey Everyone, I am looking for help with a quick project.

Have a friend that recently moved to Mexico for a few years and decided to rent his house out while he is gone. He is a fairly (very) anal retentive kind of guy so the lawn was always in tip top shape. I've got a photo of his place and would like to make some "modifications" mainly to the lawn and send it off to him asking what happened.

My photoshop skills aren't that great anymore, so if someone has a few minutes and would be willing to take a stab at it, it would be greatly appreciated!

Basically i'm looking to kill the lawn, not totally over the top, but enough to get his blood pressure to rise.
