    Default OPI Solutions

    Greetings,

We are a Prinergy site and we still use OPI with one of our sister plants. Since Creo (now Kodak) purchased ScenicSoft they acquired ColorCentral which included Sampler, the program we use to make OPI. Unfortunately it only runs under OS9, and while we still have a few computers capable of running OS9, this will soon change as we upgrade to Intel based machines.

Does anyone know of an alternate (hopefully Mac based) OPI solution?

FYI - I will be cross posting this to the Kodak forum.

    OPI Resolver:
OpiResolver replacing low-resolution images for high-resolution images. Single images are searched by the module resource according to OPI and comments embedded in the PDF file. The module accepts TIFF, JPEG, ScitexCT, EPS, DCS and coded as PDF high resolution objects. Optionally, the module can also remove the OPI comments or correct them by inserting appropriate references to Lost. embedding the high-resolution images can be compressed using JPEG, ZIP, CCITT Fax RunLength or, depending on image type built.

    Resampler
Resample decreases the resolution of bitmaps into PDF documents for a data size and the proper resolution of the image. The high-resolution data in the bitmap can be removed from work and saved in a folder outside (and placed again for the form OPIResolver after correction), or maintained in the output document images as an alternative - when used solely for purposes of printing. The images can be compressed using ZIP, JPEG, CCITT RunLength, depending on type of image.
