Default Calculation of Perfect binding glue consumption

    Hello,
Is there any formula to calculate the consumption (at least approximate) of perfect binding glue consumption?

    Hi Kiran,

I guess if you're using PUR, where the glue thickness is set, you could simply calculate volume (LxHxD). With EVA, it's not going to be that easy. There are also some variables which need to be taken into consideration:

    1. Are you side-glueing?
    2. Spine thickness
    3. Spine length
    4. Notching depth

for costing purposes, you could probably work on a worst-case scenario. I doubt it'll make much difference on the glue cost per book.

Why not do it empirically by carefully weighing a gathered book and cover before and after gluing it, but before trimming it?

    Default hi kiran

    hi
we were trying the same and approximately it turns out to be 100gms per sqm
Kiran bhai doesnt know if thats accurate..

try this one (number of books)/length X width X deposit
