Most pressmen that I know can and will make plates, even though most of them would rather not.

Pressman should make the plates in a ROOM technology shop.
    Naked pressmen, OOOUCHHH!
    Who still uses film?

    Hello fellow Lithographers and Pre-Press

I've spent "Many happy hours" platemaking, I'll mention making Deep Etch plates another time.

You are shooting yourself in the foot if your press operators cannot make their own replacements or pull reorders without prepress involved. One caveat is that the press operators need to be drilled that they do not need a new set of 8 plates if the position is off 1/10000" on the punch If not, you'll double your material usage in a month

X2..... espeacially in this economy. Do not need plate makers sitting around on 2nd and 3rd shifts.
