    Default Soft Proofing

We use a pdf proof form that has editable text fields, checkboxes, etc... Using Acrobat Pro 9, we then add our final print pdfs using the Layers function. We are able to place the final print pdfs using the manual positioning coordinates so that our pdf appears behind a masked window. It appears how the art will look after diecutting or without bleed. It takes considerable time to place each pdf into these forms and I was looking for a better, more efficient method? I have tried creating an Indesign template which we import or link up the pdf proof form and then link up final print pdfs, but have not been able to export a interactive pdf that retains the editable text fields, checkboxes, etc... Maybe I just have some setting wrong, but if I could get the Indesign Template method to work it would save a huge amount of time?

Thanks for any input or help in advance.
