Default how to change the gripper in large volume pdf files

Customer gave a pdf files with 40 mm gripper at the bottom ; we need to change the gripper into 60..

usually we will place the pdf in illustrator or indesing and set the gripper according to our machine and generate postscript file to output..

but in this job, its morethan 70 sets very difficult to place each seperate and generating seperated pdf files took more time to finish..

Is there is any fastest or software which can change the gripper to reduce the work time..

    any suggestions / ideas

I guess you don't have any PDF editing tools based on your post?

You could always download a trial of PitStop Pro if you have Acrobat available. The industry standard for PDF preflight, PDF editing and auto-correction - Enfocus PitStop Pro

Generally I configure for Paper Size not plate size and apply the required offset for correct plate grip on the CTP controller.
This way you don't waste paper when your proofing as the imposed file size is the same as the printed paper size not the plate and you can visually check the job fits correctly on the paper.
It depends a lot on the CTP you are using but you can usually just shift the image up and down the plate as required, the only problem you may get if you are using the plate size is the CTP controller may error if you shift the image of the back edge of the plate but you can usually override the error.
If you are taking in pre-imposed PDF files from an external source I don't think it's a good idea to be passing them through more processes than is absolutely necessary as you will run the risk of breaking the integrity of the supplied PDF.

    Kala,

You can change the PDF Bounding box in Acrobat Professional, the option is available in Advance Menu > Print Production > Crop Pages tool. You can define the Custom Page size (Plate size in your case) and also play with X and Y offsets to meet the plate gripper requirement.

    Hope this helps.
