The wonderful "electronic" age where for a quick $50 anyone can be a designer using the world class Adobe Suite. At the same time the tools for the prepress industry set the expectations on us as...

If we provide you with a bag/pouch/label die/template do not alter it. It will save you the shock of an additional $1,000 to your quote.
They are metal tools that need to be made for each size.

In looking around I've found that there are as many D.A.M. solutions as there are leaves in my front yard. So I'm hoping for some help. Our focus is on packaging (so labels, film, foil, bags, boxes)....

Look at Pantone 165 through the years. Talk about a color shift!
The one that leaves me scratching my head the most with Pantone is that they make a book for "designers" but where's the book...

Curious if anyone else has implemented remote video for the conference room? (like Skype hooked to a tv?)
If you have what did hardware did you end up going with? Are you happy with it?

We have to examine every sample we get very closely as it seems everyone has a "trick" that they do in flexo printing. Well, if you're trying to duplicate it that is.

Check the recent updates for 10. For some reason I think I saw a hotfix that addressed technical colors. Could be wrong but worth looking.

RIP and licensing server will be in one state while the user will be in another. Se we'd need the ability to use the Deskpack plugins as well as pilot.
Just curious if anyone else had tried...

- Billw, My original comment was that everyone does it. In tune with Gordo's no? It looks like I picked the wrong company to poke at (as I could've used about any of them). Gordo brought up the...

Woah fan boy central.
I find it comical how Apple fans justify suing the crap out of everyone for stealing Apples "ideas' but then use things like "being first is not always the important thing"...
-
That 1984 MAC didn't borrow anything from what APPLE stole from PARC did it. But hey. Everyone is allowed to overlook the obvious fact that bickering over the size of a font or button or rounded...

Sorry, couldn't help it. :D

The ones I've seen are printed using Comco ProGlides (Flexographic). Not sure on the UV part (I would think you'd have ink cracking issues if it were UV). Then the tubes are formed/seamed off-line.

Surely you can't be serious (some Airplane humor). Overprinting elements occur on Flexo jobs all the time. Intentional (to create an extra tone from 2 spots) or not (element is too small to trap with...

Using the Indigo is not a bad idea as it's just an output device. Sounds like you just need to profile the presses. Biggest thing is you need your press room on board with your process.
What is...

In short we use ColorEngine (ESKO Kaleidoscope) and an Epson printer. We also use an EyeOne for measuring the proofs day to day.
the biggest problem I see with Flexo is the press conditions...

Since the black is scanning so light using -paper the densitometer actually sees more yellow in the color than anything else. So it thinks we're printing ultra high yellow.
I forced it to scan...

We are measuring dot gain with this first test. CMYK down at production speed. Also this is the exact same print piece. When the press operators measure it using the "density" selection on the...

Situation:
XRite handheld densitometer being used.
what I have noticed is that the SID readings from the DENSITY ABSOLUTE are about .08 - .10 higher than the DOT -PAPER.
The press uses...

Or the people that send you a JPG and expect it to cost nothing on the prep side and print as 5 sport colors.

Other plates can be processed but I don't think the contract you signed will allow for it. At all. Zero.
If your contract is up and you wish to continue thermal options I know MacDermid has...

It's sounding more and more like:
If you keep your software and systems up to date (within 12-18 months) then the Cloud based subscription is not a bad option.
If you have older software and...

I get what you're saying. The problem is it doesn't work that way for my particular situation. We are overhead. Not a profit center. The object is to lose as little as possible.
With that I am...

So art board corruption Straaaaaaange. We open older files and copy/paste into a new file by default anymore.
I had an odd one while doing Pagemaker support where the file wouldn't save after...

Let me clarify. I am looking more at old designs in old formats. Where a long time customer has decided to try us and that's all they have. Or how about a company that used Freehand for years only to...
