Mitsubishi 1G/3H Multi Communication Error

Hello,

We have a Mitsubishi 1G and a 3H - both are about 12 years old not. We have been getting Multi communication error on the machines. The technician says the problem is with the Slave Cards.

Does anyone have these cards available or knows a cheap source for these card? I need about 4 of Slave Card A and 4 of Slave Card B.

If you have parts numbers, I may be able to help you.
First of all, you should check error codes in "Safety monitor" .
If you get error 23, sure you certainly have a communication break down between CPU, PLC and print units.
Second, when you replace slave boards in delivery and feeder cabinets, new board is almost twice larger than old version, be careful not damaging connecting cables.
Third, you may not need slave boards. You may have a problem with communication ports of PLC, Master A or serial communication cable connections.

Multi communication error is caused when the receive data of the SX communication drops too low from the send data.

The SX slave has a monitoring function within the PLC on this type of communication.

There is a specified value for this. Each slave board has it own value within the PLC program and this should be checked,it will tell you which board has the issues.

There are two types of multiplex communication interface board.
One is Slave A which has both analog and digital input/output.
Second one is Slave B which has only digital I/O.
I don't think both boards are in trouble.
Slave A is located both feeder and delivery control boxes but not in print units.
You find several Slave B in feeder, print unit and delivery control boxes.
So when you have communication error or problem, you need to locate which slave board is causing problem.
This is fairly common problem in Mitsubishi presses

Thanks for your prompt response.Our in house technician has narrowed down the problem to one of the Slave A card in the printing Unit. We would like a price on Slave Card A and Slave Card B also and confirm availability.
