    Default Check list

Does someone have a check list for the pressmen? One for every job. The better the plates come out it seams the less they check.

Could you provide more information? Is prepress making plates and sending them into the press room? And if so, are you wanting the press operators to check the plates before mounting on press?

    1) does the customer know what he wants
    2) Can he pay for it
    3) can you deliver it

    (while waiting for more info)

I'm looking for the pressmen responsibilities when running the job. Plates are checked by prepress

-is job ticket correct, does sample match job ticket match plates
-is correct paper ordered, is run size correct, is there a better run size, are ink colors correct, are they the ink colors customer wanted?
our pressmen check everything from the job ticket to the sample to the plates.
thats after us prepressers do the same.

pressmen usually keep some sort of job log as well. everything should be documented.

Our pressmen have a big checklist to go off of, including:
    Verify job number
    Verify work against live sample
    Verify work again proof
    Verify colors
    Verify paper
    Verify MICR line
    Verify serial numbering
    Verifying MICR strength
    Test perforations

Of course it's bit longer in their case since they have to be extra careful printing MICR and serial numberings since wrong finished product sent to wrong customer is a bad bad thing......
