    Default Sampling Frequency

What would you all say an average sampling frequency is during a normal 4-color press run on a half size press?

Would it be any different for tougher jobs, say a 6-color job, or a job with 5 spots and tight register?

    Thanks

We are predominatly a short run shop. Anywhere from 10 sheets - 5000 sheets is the majority of our work..

We are given extremly small amounts of overs that is to cover makeready + run lose + bindery. So we don't have the luxury of running a 100 or more sheets to settle colour. We are expected to have colour in around 20 - 50 sheets.

My sampling rate is Frequent, even if the duct is settled and printing fine. I get payed to turn out work as best as possible. Sampling frequently ensures, if there is a problem (colour shift/hicky/scum/marking) it is picked up and rectified, ensuring very little paper waste...

I have all to often seen press guys set the job up and hit the run button and maybe pull 1 or 2 sheets out durring the run then either
    1) find at the end of the run something was wrong
    2) It gets sent back from the bindery as they didn't even check the sheet as they wheeled the stack away, and there was an issue.

Im use to 1 sheet per 100 for a 1000 sheet run.
1 sheet per 500 for 1000-5000 sheet run.
1 sheet per 1000 above that.

Those sheets are pulled right on count, signed and numbered.
