    Default XMPie versus Exstream Dialogue

Does anyone know of a reliable source for a comparison between XMPie and Exstream Dialogue? I know the marketing pitch of both applications, but my company is looking for a good, neutral, head-to-head rundown of strengths/weaknesses of both.

    Many thanks.

    Slow (XMPie) versus Fast (Exstream)

Standard Authoring Environment (Xmpie-InDesign) vs. Proprietary (Exstream)

Standard Output (XMPie- PS, PDF, PPML) vs. Old School (AFP)

This is just shooting from the hip, but they aren't particular good products to compare to one another. XMPie would be for graphically rich, personalized print, for example direct mail, Exstream would be for transactional applications.

Exstream is fast on the server end, but harder on the design end. 1000 data items in Exstream is almost instanteous compared to a couple of minutes in xmpie. Also Xmpie server is web based requiring a lot of uploading whereas exstream is command oriented.

Exstream has suffered since HP acquisition. Support is limited.

GMC covers both the transactional and the graphical end. Probably worth a look.
