    Default Wide Format VDP?

HP has announced support for wide format VDP but only on their hardware.

Jet Letter PSL has been able to run wide format VDP for a year or so now.

Has anyone used either product or any other VDP solution to print wide format VDP output?

What I'm thinking about is creating and producing displays with location specific QR codes incorporated into the design.

I just force the output to be PDF, then print the multipage pdf on my wide format printer. I use XMPie and InDesign to create the PDFs. Do you know what HP or JetLetter PSL are offering that is above and beyond this?

HP announced a VDP plug in for their SmartStream Design solution that will print wide format output. I know they also have a label VDP solution available through Eskofot. I don't have HP equipment so I have no idea what their capabilities are.

Jet Letter PSL has produced labels on KIP and Xerox wide format hardware and I understand they are or will be testing on Epson equipment.

I'm not looking to do what you described, print multipage pdf output on a wide format printer. I want to produce display sized output including information specific to the location that the display will be used. Eg, phone numbers or QR codes. I'd also like to be able to print a bar code outside the print area to keep track of each poster in insure it's delivered to the proper location.

If I wanted to achieve a large display product with information such as phone numbers specific to a location, I think I would still just process it through XMPie and InDesign, just with the required large page dimensions. It would be no problem adding barcodes around the outside as well, although I probably wouldn't want a barcode on the physical display.

How are you planning to output these to your wideformat device if not using PDF?

SmartVizor is a standalone, powerful, and extremely easy to use variable-data-printing application.
