XMPIE vs PAGEFLEX formats to digital devices

Just looking for some input from those out there that are using XMPie or Pageflex to drive variable data to HP Indigo's and or Xerox Nuvera's.

Looking to get into more of a robust variable software that will accomodate the request of our customer's needs.
Looking at the above mentioned but want a unified workflow solution to send variable data to both.
Trying to determine what are the most optimum formats to send to each.

Any input would be appreciated.
